Privacy Policy for VibeDiary
1. Introduction
Welcome to VibeDiary ("the App"), developed by indussparks ("we", "us", or "our").
This Privacy Policy describes how VibeDiary handles information in connection with your use of the App. Please read it carefully. By downloading, installing, or using VibeDiary, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
Note: VibeDiary is a locally functioning mood-journaling application. We do not operate servers that collect, store, or process your personal diary or mood data.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Data You Enter (Stored Locally Only)
VibeDiary allows you to create and manage:
- Mood entries and scores
- Categories and tags
- Reminders and scheduled notifications
All data you enter is stored exclusively on your device using a local SQLite database. We do not collect, access, transmit, or have any visibility into this data. This data never leaves your device through our systems.
2.2 Advertising Data — Google AdMob
The App displays banner advertisements powered by Google AdMob (Google LLC). To serve and optimize ads, AdMob may automatically collect certain information directly from your device, including but not limited to:
- Device identifiers — such as the Android Advertising ID (AAID)
- IP address — used to derive approximate geographic location
- Device information — model, OS version, language, and screen size
- Ad interaction data — ad impressions, clicks, and engagement signals
- Network information — mobile carrier, connection type
This data is collected, processed, and controlled entirely by Google LLC under its own privacy policies. We do not receive, store, access, or control this advertising data.

Your Ad Choices: You may opt out of personalized advertising by adjusting your device settings:
- On Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Delete Advertising ID (Android 12+) or Opt out of Ads Personalization.

3. Permissions
The App requests the following Android permissions. Each permission is used solely for the stated purpose, and none are used to collect or transmit personal data to us.

| INTERNET | Required solely by Google AdMob to load and display advertisements. The App does not use this permission to transmit your diary or mood data. |
4. Share Feature
When you use the Share feature in VibeDiary:
- The App generates an image card entirely on-device.
- The image is temporarily written to a secure, app-private storage location via Android's FileProvider API. This file is only accessible with your explicit sharing action and cannot be accessed by other apps without your initiation.
- The Android system share sheet is opened, and you choose the destination app (e.g., WhatsApp, Instagram, Gmail).
Once you share, the content is governed by the privacy policy of the app you chose to share to. We have no involvement in or control over that transfer. We do not access, upload, or track any content you share.
5. Device Backup
The App has Android backup enabled (allowBackup = true). This means:
- Android Auto Backup (Android 6.0+) may back up your app's local database to your Google account's cloud backup (if you have backup enabled on your device).
- This backup is managed by Android/Google, not by us. It is governed by Google's backup and privacy terms.
- Backup data is encrypted and tied to your Google account. We cannot access it.
To control backup behavior, go to Settings → Google → Backup on your Android device.
6. WebView Usage
The App may use a WebView component to display internal web-based content (e.g., help screens, policy pages, or ad-related web content loaded by AdMob). We do not use WebView to collect any personal information from you.
7. Third-Party Services
Google AdMob (Google LLC)
The App integrates Google AdMob to serve advertisements. Google is an independent data controller for the data it collects through AdMob. Relevant policies:

Other Third-Party SDKs
The App uses MPAndroidChart (by PhilJay), a charting library used for local data visualization. This library operates entirely on-device and does not collect or transmit any data.
8. Data Security
All user-generated diary and mood data is stored locally on your device. We do not have access to this data. As such:
- Security of your data depends on your device's security (PIN, fingerprint, face unlock, etc.).
- We recommend keeping your device OS up to date and using device-level encryption.
- In the event of device theft, loss, factory reset, or app uninstall, locally stored data may be permanently lost. We are not liable for such data loss.
9. Data Retention and Deletion
All mood and diary data is stored locally on your device. You can delete data at any time from within the App. Uninstalling the App will remove all locally stored app data from your device (subject to Android backup policies described in Section 5).
⚠️ Data Recovery Notice: Because all data is stored exclusively on your local device, we have no backup copies and are technically unable to recover your entries if the app is uninstalled or if your device is lost, broken, or damaged.
Advertising data collected by Google AdMob is subject to Google's own retention policies.
10. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding your personal data. Since we do not collect personal data, most data rights (access, correction, deletion, portability) apply to data held by Google LLC for AdMob-related data.
For EEA / UK Users (GDPR)
Google, as the data controller for AdMob data, may present a consent dialog for personalized advertising on first launch. You may withdraw consent at any time via device advertising settings.
For California Users (CCPA / CPRA)
We do not sell your personal information. For data collected by Google AdMob, please refer to Google's CCPA guidance.
For All Users
You may opt out of personalized ads using your device advertising settings at any time (see Section 2.2).
11. Children's Privacy
VibeDiary is a general audience app and is not directed at, intended for, or designed for children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction).
We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under 13. The App is configured to serve non-personalized ads only in contexts that may involve minors, consistent with Google AdMob's child-directed treatment settings.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used the App in a way that involves automated data collection by third parties, please contact us at the email below and we will take appropriate steps.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
IMPORTANT — PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:
VibeDiary is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We make no guarantees that:
- The App will be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or free from bugs or viruses.
- Features will perform consistently across all device makes, models, or Android versions.
- Reminders and alarms will always fire exactly as scheduled (behavior may be affected by aggressive device battery optimization, manufacturer OS customizations, or background restrictions).
- Data will never be lost due to uninstallation, device failure, OS updates, or storage corruption.
Use of the App is entirely at your own risk.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, indussparks and its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, or licensors shall not be liable for any:
- Direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages.
- Loss of data (including mood entries, reminders, and diary content).
- Loss of profits, goodwill, or other intangible losses.
- Damages arising from device malfunction, OS background-killing behavior, or third-party app interactions.
- Actions taken in reliance on App content or mood data summaries.
This limitation applies whether or not indussparks was advised of the possibility of such damages, and regardless of the legal theory (tort, contract, or otherwise) on which the claim is based. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations of liability, so the above limitations may not fully apply to you.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App, applicable laws, or third-party SDK updates.
- The "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy will be revised accordingly.
- For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you (e.g., via a clear in-app notice).
- Continued use of the App after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
15. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising in connection with this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India.
